Supporting Parents

Whether your child is a toddler, or transitioning to elementary school, middle school, or adulthood, Dr. Mann is experienced in supporting parents through coaching. She has coached parents through all stages of development to help improve their relationship with their children. Parents are often faced with deciding how much to push and how much to protect when their child is not behaving as expected. Using developmental, behavioral and relational lenses she is able to help parents improve their approach to parenting their child’s specific needs.

She has experience with Parent Management Training which is an evidence-based intervention for children with disruptive behaviors and ADHD.

Dr. Mann is also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) which was developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. It is a parent-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems: separation anxiety, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, fears and phobias, panic disorder and agoraphobia, selective mutism, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Parents learn new skills and tools to help their child overcome anxiety. The treatment focuses on changes that parents can make to their own behavior—to increase their support and reduce their accommodation of their child's anxiety. It does not require participation by the child.

Depending on your unique concerns, she is able tailor her approach.
